Lego Cake & Cupcakes

These idea for these lego cakes were inspired by Joscelynne's sons, Lance & Daniel, who LOVE legos! When Michele's Aunt Cheryl asked if Whimsy Girls could create a lego cake for her son, Matt's 8th birthday, we knew exactly what we wanted to do! The birthday boy was thrilled with his Lego cake & all of his friends were so impressed!

Dora 3rd Birthday Cake

These cakes were for the 3rd birthdays, of Ali & Lexi! Ali  & Lexi are the beautiful twin daughters of Katie's 2nd grade teacher, Melissa. The girls LOVE Dora, so we knew we wanted to have the Dora & Boots figurines that they could take home to play with after the party. We went with a classic 2 tier cake design for the center cake. Polka Dots, stripes  & bows in the girls favorite colors decorate the cake. Dora inspired stars spring out of the cake on food safe wire. Each girl also recieved their own mini-cake with their name spelled out on coordinating stars!

Cat In The Hat Birthday

This was for Tristan's 1st "Dr. Suess themed birthday. We created a Cat in the Hat cake and Thing One & Thing 2 inspired cupcakes. At over a foot tall, this was the tallest cake that Whimsy Girls had made! It was 5 torted & stacked 6" cakes (that means 10 layers of cake!) We had a blast making something that was so different and a bit of a challenge! Making a cake that tall & narrow can be difficult, and the fact that the Cat in the Hat's hat is not supposed to be straight made this cake a whole new logistical challenge! We think we were able to pull it off with just enough "whimsy" to convey the "Seuss-ical" nature of the Cat In the Hat while maintaining the structural integrety needed to support a cake of this size! Tristans mom, Debbie, did a fantastic job on creating a Seuss wonderland in their backyard! We loved the tablescape!

Covered in marshmallow fondant.
Cupcakes are golden butter yellow cake in red paper liners with blue tinted buttercream icing piled high insipired by Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Gone Fishing Cake

This cake was for Lance's birthday! We decided that a fishing theme would be perfect for Lance, since that is his favorite pass time. The little details, like the tiny cooler, reeds, ducks & bobber, really made the cake come to life! Perfect for Father's Day, a groom's cake, or any celebration for the fisherman (or fisher-woman!) in your life!

Pink Purse Cupcakes

These cupcakes were also for Joscelynne's "Pickle Purse Party". We handformed each little fondant purse which took alot of time but was so worth it when we realized how cute they turned out! Would be prefect for any "fashionista"!

Vanilla cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream & handformed marshmellow fondant decorations!

Pink Purse Cookies

These cookies were favors for Joscelynne's "Pickle Purse Party". Every cookie was a different design so that each cookie was a one of a kind, just like a "Pickle Purse". They were VERY time consuming, but definitely worth it!

Pink Zebra Purse Cake

This cake was soo much fun! It was our 1st carved cake and everything just worked out so well! We were so happy with the way it all came together. It was for Joscelynne's "Pickle Purse Party", so we even added a little pickle on the clasp of the purse. All of the details were made to coordinate with the invitations. Everyone seemed to really be impressed and so were we!

1st Birthday Jungle Cake

This cake was for a little boy, Maurice. It was his 1st birthday and his Godmother wanted to have a special jungle themed cake for her little "Monkey". Making all of the little jungle animals was lots of fun! We loved how the they all had thier own little personalities!

Hand formed marshmellow fondant animals, vines, grass & palm tree over blue tinted buttercream.
6 and 8" vanilla cakes filled with vanilla buttercream.

Squirrel and Tree Stump Cake

This cake was inspired by Michele's mom, Lisa and her "Pet" squirrels! Lisa feeds the squirrels outside of her office & they have been known to take peanuts right out of her hand! So it only seemed logical that she have a squirrel cake for her 51st birthday!

Handformed Marshmellow Fondant squirrel, leaves and peanuts & hand textured Chocolate Buttercream bark. 4 layers of chocolate cake filled with chocolate buttercream.

Under the Sea Cake

This cake was made to for Michele's grandfather (aka Pop-pop) and her nephew, Joey,
who share the same birthday. Trying to find a theme that is relevant to an 83 year old man
& a 10 year old boy was certainly interesting! We can up with the idea of an underwater
theme since both love the beach and the ocean!
It was amazing getting to create all of the sealife!
Each little creature was lovingly handmade from marshmellow fondant.
The shells were brushed lightly with gold lusterdust for a little extra shimmer!
